A few weeks ago, I used a Microcenter gift card to purchase the Creative Sound Blaster Z sound card. I didn't intend to buy it on a short notice like I did, but they had the cheaper version available and I wanted to try it out. It has cheaper capacitors than the widely available version, and it also does not feature an EMI shield or external microphone. It was a lot cheaper though.I installed the card after getting it and after struggling with drivers, I removed it and went back to my X-Fi Titanium. I just couldn't get the sound right. Now that I finally had time, I gave the card another shot.

I definitely still had my fair share of driver issues, but it worked much better than it did last time and now it sounds great.For reference, the popularly available flagship Sound Blaster Z is model SB1500, and this version is SB1502.
