The performance is pretty good, the boys are in a definatly great mood to be there.
Its awesome to hear Geddy finally introduce The Fountain of Lamneth, though the cut it short to just the first part, as they are not too fond of that song, for many reasons, all too obvious. The sound isn't great. Rockford barely beats this. It sounds like people are having sex, and many people screaming for Geddy, and a girl says how cool it is to see Rush to her boyfriend, whose name seems to be Marvin. And one guy gets pissed at this girl named Nancy, he told her to shut the fuck up. Anyway, its distorted, and the audience is very loud, and its a booming show. The audience is way loud.
A show for the collectors.December 16, 1975 Lakeside SpringfieldLocation: Springfield, IllinoisSource: Audience (Analog Cassette Master)Grade: C+Setlist: Bastille Day 4:12Anthem 3:32Lakeside Park 3:44Comments: When you though that the Rockford show was rare and unknown, check this show out. This is ultra rare, I don't think it has ever been released until now, and we are definatly lucky to get this awesome show. It reminds me of Sprinfield 76 a year or so later because his voice is similar, but they are not the same as he is in a different key for most of the time. The sound isn't incredible. There is a major amount of distortion, probably due to being recorded way too high, unfortunatly. You can hear everything, but the bass and drums don't cut through as well as the vocals and guitar effects and guitar do. The performance isn't as good as Rockford, but still excellent.
I never knew that the boys liked Springfield this much, but we do get a nice performance. A show for the rarity lovers or super Rush fans.November 15, 1975 Steel BreezeLocation: Rockford Armory, Rockford, Illinois, USASource: AudienceGrade: B-/C+Setlist: Bastille Day 4:42Anthem 4:43Lakeside Park 4:28The Necromancer 12:51By-Tor and the Snow Dog 10:38Working Man 13:38Stage Announcements 0:55Comments: This is a degrade from Digital Reproductions Stainless Steel production. The sound is a little more muffled. But, there was some tape flucuation in Stainless Steel that was edited out of this version. But, I still perfer Stainless Steel to this production. The performance here is definatly very good.
Only recommended for those who need everything.November 15, 1975 Stainless SteelLocation: Rockford Armory, Rockford, Illinois, USASource: Audience(Analog Master)Grade: B-Setlist: Bastille Day 4:42Anthem 4:43Lakeside Park 4:28The Necromancer 12:51By-Tor and the Snow Dog 10:38Working Man 13:38Stage Announcements 0:55Comments: Wow, its the only Caress of Steel show known to the bootleg community,(until now, check above reviews) The sound, is not actually that bad, but its kind of hard to listen to. The guitar is upfront, but everything else is kind of background. The drums are like gone, and same with the bass. Geddy isn't even there! His voice is almost inauidable for the taper, its very odd.
The performance here is very strong, which is very good. There were alot of people in the crowd yelling for Geddy, and I definatly think that I know why. The sound makes this show very hard to listen to.
But, its still a cool perfromance. Recommend to only diehards.
